E-TEN M600+ Unveiled

The E-TEN M600+, an upgrade of the original M600, brings with it some useful improvements: “more memory, higher resolution camera and improved Bluetooth.”The specs on the M600+ are a 400Mhz Samsung processor, 256MB of memory, 2.0-megapixel camera, the Windows Mobile 5 push email software update, WiFi, GSM, GPRS, Bluetooth 2.0, 2.8″ display, and SDIO expansion. eBay saw its shares slide almost 7pc after the online aution website reined in its earnings expectations as the UK and US economies weaken. eBay told shareholders that it now expects revenues of betwen $2.1bn and $2.15bn for the third quarter, below analysts’ previous estimates of $2.17bn for the period.The value of the items sold on eBay’s sites climbed 8pc during the second quarter, the smallest rise since the first quarter of 1999. The prepay 3G iPhone and mobile broadband are set to be the big hitters this Christmas as the industry starts finalising its plans.The fourth quarter always produces a spike in sales for operators, manufacturers and retailers, with an additional 750,000 prepay, contract and Sim-free devices sold in December 2007 compared with November and January.The big products lined up for this Christmas include the prepay 3G iPhone, a dongle from Virgin Mobile and new laptops from Phones 4u and Carphone Warehouse. Tokbox, a web-based service for video, voice, IM chat, video mail, just came out with the latest in a steady stream of AIR apps being launched of late. This desktop verison of the software looks remarkably like the web client, albeit in a smaller window. It does add an icon to the pack in your system tray in Windows, which means you’ll be available for online video chatting without having to be logged in to the Web site. Sound and picture quality were quite good in my brief, preliminary testing, as far as these IP things go. Don’t forget you can also send a video mail or add video to Facebook chat with Tokbox. Skype is attempting to crack into the small to medium enterprise (SME) VoIP market, saying it can reduce costs and allow companies to work on a global scale.The managed VoIP provider has found 30 per cent of its global customers use the service at work and so now is trying to break away from the consumer market.According to the Skype research, around 95 per cent of business users can save money by using it, with the firm saying a third of firms can cut their bills by at least 50 per cent.
